The road ahead

What's next

Where Sour Client is headed. Directions, not promises. It ships when it is right.

Coming soonBuilt and in testing, launching with the account service
Accounts & your portal
A Sour Client account created on first launch, tying your plan, cosmetics, and playtime together. Sign in on the web with a link code from the client, then manage plan and billing, see your playtime, and control exactly what other players can see. Preview the portal.
The cosmetic store
Buy capes, cloaks, wings, hats, auras, and accents, all cosmetic and never an edge. Owned pieces live in your locker and equip straight from the client, with the Sour Gold discount applied automatically. See the store.
Player search & the board
Look up any player by username to see their skin, playtime, plan, and cosmetics, and climb a public leaderboard, all opt-out per detail or entirely. See the players page.
PlannedDirections we're steering toward, no dates yet
More mods, folded in natively
Sour Client keeps replacing the mod folder. More of the mods people juggle today, rebuilt as native modules that ship on and cost nothing, each held to the same performance bar as the rest of the client.
A growing cosmetics line
More cloak types, animated cosmetics, and new categories added to the store over time, so your locker keeps growing well after launch.
Deeper theming
Custom launcher and in-game backgrounds, per-screen accents, and shareable theme presets, building on the one-accent system that already themes launcher, client, and this site together.
More platforms
Windows first. Mac and Linux builds are being evaluated once the Windows client is fully stable.
More versions
1.8.9 is home and comes first. The launcher already runs other vanilla versions, and full native support for more, with the modules and render tiers, is on the list.
