Report a bug, or ask us anything

One ticket for all of it — a crash, a charge that went wrong, a cosmetic that has not landed, or a question. You follow it, and reply to it, in your ticket centre, and a moderator answers it.

A ticket needs an account, so the reply has somewhere to go and you have somewhere to read it. The Discord does not — it is the route for when you cannot sign in at all.

Tips on ticket creation

None of this is required, and a ticket with none of it still gets read. But a report carrying these is usually answered once rather than four times.

WHAT HAPPENED

What you did, and what happened instead — in your own words, in whatever order it comes out. “I pressed F5 and the game froze” is a better first line than a paragraph of theory about why.

VERSION AND PROFILE

Both are on the launcher’s home screen. They matter more than they look like they do: most bugs live in one version, or in one profile’s settings, and the two together often narrow it to a handful of lines.

WHERE YOU WERE

Singleplayer, or which server. A HUD element that misbehaves on one server’s scoreboard and nowhere else is a different bug from one that misbehaves everywhere.

A SCREENSHOT OR A CLIP

Attach it to the ticket. It is usually worth more than the description — particularly for anything visual, where a still of the wrong thing settles in a second what a paragraph cannot settle at all.

YOUR LOG, FOR A CRASH

The launcher’s title bar has a report button that attaches the log for you, and for a crash that route is still the best one: it sends the file that names the failure, rather than the part of it you could see.

ONE TICKET PER PROBLEM

Two bugs in one ticket end as one answered and one forgotten — the thread closes when the first is fixed. Two tickets both get closed properly.

Anything you attach is visible to Sour Client staff only, and is deleted with the ticket. Close a ticket, or have it closed, and the files go with it.

Appealing a suspension or ban

Bans are issued by a person and reviewed by a person. If you think yours is wrong — or you have served it and something has gone wrong with the lift — send an appeal and it gets read.

1 · HOW TO APPEAL

Use the appeal form. It does not ask you to sign in — a banned account cannot hold a session, which is exactly why appeals have their own door.

  • Your Minecraft username and UUID — both, because names change and the ban is on the UUID.
  • Roughly when you noticed it.
  • The reason the launcher showed you, copied exactly.
  • What you think happened, in your own words.

Your UUID is in the suspension dialog itself, and the form resolves it from your username against Mojang if you do not have it to hand.

2 · WHAT HAPPENS NEXT

Every appeal is read against the audit log — the record of who issued the ban, when, and the reason they gave at the time. That record cannot be edited after the fact, which is what makes it worth reviewing.

You will get one of three answers: lifted, reduced, or upheld with the reasoning. “Upheld” always comes with why.

3 · WHAT WILL NOT HELP
  • A second account. Ban evasion turns a temporary suspension into a permanent one, and it is the easiest thing in the world for us to see.
  • Appealing the same ban repeatedly. One appeal is read properly; five are read once.
  • Chargebacks. A chargeback against Sour Gold does not lift a ban and does end your plan — see billing below if that is the actual problem.
A suspension only affects Sour Client. Minecraft itself, your account, your worlds and your purchases from Mojang are untouched — we cannot affect any of them, and a Sour Client ban never asks anyone else to do anything.

Payments and Sour Gold

A PAYMENT FAILED

Nothing is taken away the moment a charge is declined — your Gold runs to the date you have already paid for, and your account page shows the decline, that date, and what to do about it.

The card itself is changed with our payment provider, not here — they are the merchant of record and we never see a card number. The link is in the receipt email they sent you; if it has gone, open a ticket and we will send it again.

REFUNDS

Payments are handled by our payment provider, who is the merchant of record. We never see a card number. Open a ticket under Billing or refund with the order reference from your receipt — your billing history carries it too.

GOLD IS MISSING

Gold follows the Minecraft account, not the PC. Sign in on the same account and it is there. If a purchase has not landed within a few minutes, open a ticket with the order reference.
